Kosovo becomes the 6th state carved from Yugoslavia.
Kosovo becomes
the 6th state carved from Yugoslavia.
The breakup of Yugoslavia
provided the fodder for what may have been the most misrepresented
series of major events over the past twenty years. Yugoslavia's
conflicts were not so much mediated by foreign powers as they were
inflamed .
If you know that then you'll 'get' the cover. This is the
headline on the cover of Kosovo's Gazeta newspaper. I swear, it's
real. And it sums it up nicely: More here.
Kosovo becomes the 6th
state carved from Yugoslavia.
It has been a long struggle - one which
required the breakup of Yugoslavia and years of subsequent chaos,
violence, and ethnic cleansing. Since 1999, Kosovo, a province of
Serbia, has been under UN control. .
